Are you assured that you don’t have heart disease or lung cancer?
Pulmonary cystic disease, is a disease relatively unknown to people, However, it is frequently diagnosed in those with asthma, pollution-triggered asthma and who smoke a lot. If pulmonary cystic disease advances, there is no choice but to use an oxygen tank to breathe on a daily basis.
We check its condition of your heart and lung with the latest photographing device “ 64 rows, multi-detector computed tomography”. We provide you with reassurance on surer grounds.

An encouragement of heart and lung cancer scanning with 64 rows multi-detector computed tomography

Breast pang, cardiac infarction and lung cancer are ranked high in leading causes of death. If these are prevented from developing we can live everyday in relief. As for the heart, coronary arteriosclerotic disease, which becomes the cause of breast pang and cardiac infarction, is quickly detected. And as for lung cancer, it is capable of detecting a lung cancer while is still a few millimeters in size.
They say, cancer, heart disease and cerebral stroke are the 3 major leading causes of death for Japanese but, what kinds of diseases are called heart disease?
In heart diseases, there are heart failure ,in which the heart strength is weakened and not able to fulfill the function of the heart, and breast pang and cardiac infarction caused by narrowed and clogged coronary arteries.
What are breast pang and cardiac infarction ?
The heart receives oxygen and nutrient through the blood vessels which are on the external side of it and work to pump out blood throughout the body. The blood vessels which have a role to send out blood are called coronary arteries, but the more cholesterol and fat are on the inside of blood vessels, the thinner the vessels become and they eventually fail to provide enough oxygen and nutrient to a part of muscle consisting the heart, when that happens, it is called breast pang.
Can’t breast pang and cardiac infarction be prevented?
Even though the symptoms of breast pang and cardiac infarction appear suddenly, the hardening of the arteries advances relatively slowly in coronary arteries. So, it is important to detect the arterial stiffening early. Once it has developed, it results in deposition of calcium on the arterial wall(called calcification). We detect it rapidly and start our treatment to avoid the development of calcification.
What should I do if I know there is likelihood of arterial stiffening?
In the case where arterial stiffening is suspected, we perform more detailed examinations of the heart, and ultimately perform an examination which displays the very existence of coronary arteries (cardiac catheterization) to see if the arteries have been narrowed. This examination shows every parts of the heart, from the parts they are clogged up to the parts where they are narrowed.
What kind of things are done in the examination and how long does it take?
All we ask patients to do is lie down on the examining table of CT. There is no pain or discomfort. The examination time is about 10 minutes even including the time taken in getting on and off the examination table.
